Sarakiniko Beach – Emerald Bay near Parga
Sarakiniko Beach is a beautiful, crescent-shaped bay a short drive from Parga, known for emerald waters, coarse sand and pebbles, and a relaxed atmosphere. Sheltered by green hills and rocky headlands, it offers a more tranquil setting than Parga’s town beaches.
The beach is partly organized with sunbeds and umbrellas in season, and there are a few seaside tavernas and cafés for meals and refreshments. The clear water and rocky sides of the bay make Sarakiniko an excellent spot for snorkeling and casual swimming throughout the day.
Access is easiest by car via a paved road; parking areas are available behind the beach in summer. You can also reach Sarakiniko by boat from Parga when sea conditions allow. The shoreline has limited natural shade, so bringing a hat or umbrella is a good idea, especially in July–August.
Families appreciate the calm water inside the bay, while couples and photographers love the scenery at sunrise and late afternoon. Combine your visit with nearby viewpoints or with a stop at Valtos or Lichnos for a full beach day in the Parga region.
